Great pleasure to meet Dr Nike Folayan MBE (PhD, CEng.FIET), Mara-Tafadzwa Makoni & Ibim Diri in person finally discussing partnership plans with Mercedes AMG Petronas F1 Team at the launch event, also an opportunity to talk about the progress made with my mentee in the Association for Black and Minority Ethnic Engineers (AFBE-UK) mentorship program who is now working in the F1 industry on placement.
Giving the AFBE students a tour of key areas of the business gave them an insight into the F1 and the different career options. Answering their questions and discussing my journey on how I’ve transited from automotive to motorsport hopefully inspired them to have a long term plan, showing there is number routes into F1. It was great to see their passion and determination to have a career in the industry.
